Kendra Grittani


Cello Teacher

 

Kendra Grittani started playing the cello when she was just four and a half years old. She comes from a very musical family; her mother is a cello teacher herself. She has been studying with Susan Gagnon for 11 years, and has been playing for a total of 12 years.

 

Kendra recently completed her Grade 10 RCM Cello exam with First Class Honours, and is now working towards her ARCT in performance to be completed in a year. Kendra has completed her Grade 3 Harmony Exam and is currently studying Grade 4 Harmony. She has also attended Music at Port Milford, a chamber camp for young experienced musicians and is now also part of YAPA (Young artist Performance Academy) which takes place at the RCM building downtown.

 

Ms. Grittani is also the recipient of the 2008 Carrie Evans Memorial Scholarship from the Royal Conservatory of Music. She competed in the 2010 Kiwanis competition, performing in two classes receiving a 95% and a 98%, which was the top mark of the Toronto festival. She is now moving on to the provincial competitions. Kendra also began teaching beginner cellists this year.
